Sri Lanka’s Protests for Fuel And Food


Anti-government protests are raging in Sri Lanka as the country is facing its worst financial crisis since independence. The government has no money to pay off billions in foreign loans, and can’t import basic goods. Across the country, lines at gas stations stretch for miles, there are regular electricity cuts, and the cost of food has risen 60%. Protesters blame the ruling Rajapaksa family for the crisis and say they won’t stop until they’re removed from power.
