Chef José Andrés’ Fight to Feed the Hungry | Hear Me Out
This episode of Hear Me Out was created in 2021. Isobel sits down with Chef Jose Andres to learn how he went from a small town in Spain to internationally renowned chef and humanitarian. His cooking career started in NYC, he is credited with bringing the ‘tapas’ craze to the US and that launched him into celebrity chef stardom. But James Beard awards and Michelin stars weren’t enough to satisfy Chef Andres. In 2010 he founded World Central Kitchen, a non-profit dedicated to disaster relief and eradicating world hunger. Since the pandemic, the organization has been in overdrive, working to both support struggling restaurants, and feed the hungry. Eager to check out the impact of Chef Andres’ work, Isobel goes on the ground with two of the World Central Kitchen partner restaurants in Oakland, California.
