Ali Arkady is an Iraqi photojournalist, filmmaker and artist. His photographs of war crimes in Iraq were published worldwide and put pressure on the Iraqi government to acknowledge the crimes committed by their soldiers. His work in Iraq also includes illuminating the plight of the Yazidis. In 2017, Ali had to flee Iraq with his family when his life was threatened. When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Ali Arkady was once again called to document the exodus of refugees seeking safety–this time at the Polish border.
